While poking around YouTube.com yesterday I discovered a number of video clips of combat in Iraq. Most of them are rather vague as to who took them and when, and the viewer comments consist of little more than “Cool!” “Awesome!!” and “Kick Ass!!!” Even so, the images themselves are compelling. Their availability serves as yet more evidence of the Internet’s ability to bypass traditional media.
It is now possible to post videos directly to one’s blog, provided it’s powered by Blogger, BlogSpot, or LiveJournal. YouTube promises that support for more blog platforms — hopefully WordPress — is on the way. In the meantime I’ve posted a representative clip to the old “War Historian” blogspot site.
